The Exhibit, displayed at the UIC Daley Library, is a culmination of a yearlong series of public programming developed by the UIC Latino Cultural Center (LCC).

Section 1: Chocolate's Roots

This first section of the exhibit highlights the environmental issues and ancient Mesoamerican history intertwined with chocolate.


Section 2: Chocolate Around the World

This second section of the exhibit explores the ways Chocolate has increasingly reached around the globe.


Section 3: Chocolate in Chicago

This section explores local roots in chocolate history and how it once became the candy capital of the U.S.


Section 4: Chocolate Today and Tomorrow

This section of the exhibit explores everyday connections to chocolate, how it has been absorbed into everyday popular culture, and encourages us to recognize the ways in which we connect to the international chocolate market.
